Arizona Capitol Times will host its annual Leaders of the Year in Public Policy awards luncheon and presentation in late September. This event shines a spotlight on individuals and organizations for advancing public policy to positively impact the state and the lives of Arizonans, without regard to political affiliation or partisanship. Nominations are solicited from the community and honorees are selected by a panel of their peers that includes past winners and community leaders.

Categories are: arts and humanities, business, economic development, education, environment, government, health care, legislative, public safety, social services, technology, transportation and volunteerism. Special awards will be presented to honor lifetime achievement and this year’s “Unsung Hero.”

Recipients will be announced in a special publication to appear in the Arizona Capitol Times and during a luncheon to be held Sept. 29, 2009 at the Wyndham in downtown Phoenix.
